Special Features of the Program

The College of Management’s IBMBA is an international MBA program with a 1:1 ratio of domestic to international students from all over the world. The program is taught entirely in English and has international faculty from Sweden, Korea, France and the United Kingdom, allowing students to be exposed to an internationalized MBA course. Every IBMBA student must apply for an overseas exchange study program. During their exchange, IB students only need to pay National Sun Yat-sen University tuition, which is usually significantly lower than the high tuition fees of most universities abroad. IB students can also participate in a dual degree program, which offers the opportunity to earn both domestic and foreign degrees within two years. In addition, the program offers close industry-academia collaboration opportunities, such as the Seminar in Business Management, where industry experts are invited to come to campus every week to share their practical experience and teach students how to solve practical problems.

The International Business MBA program at National Sun Yat-sen University was ranked in the top 100 universities by the FT Masters in Management Ranking (MiM) for the second time in 2021, jumping two places from last year to 83rd.

Graduation Requirements

Minimum Program Credits: 39 Credits

Given that the goal of the IBMBA program is to develop international leaders, all courses are taught in English. A minimum of 39 credits are required for graduation. There are six required courses and two foundational courses, as well as core courses and elective courses to build students’ professional competencies in business administration. During the course of study, domestic students are required to study abroad for a semester to take management-related professional courses (6-9 credits). Students will receive their degree after completing a total of 13 courses (39 credits), writing a master’s thesis in English, and passing an oral examination on their thesis.

What I like about the IBMBA program is the access to various academic and professional channels. The professors bring their own experiences in their respective fields to the class. It was always fascinating to me. Additionally, they also recommend dual degree programs for students. I have never been to Europe before, so I chose ESSCA as my first option.

Luckily enough, I was chosen as a participant in this Program.Studying at ESSCA was an experience I will never forget. I had some concerns in the beginning since everything there was new to me, but everything worked out fine in the end. My French classmates were friendly and encouraging, and I enjoyed learning from them.

Also, I had time to travel, I can know more about culture. It gave me a better understanding of not only academics from different fields but also European business practices as well. In sum, I decided to enter this university without hesitation, which was the best decision in my life so far.
