I’m Ya-Ju Yang, a member of NSYSU’s Bachelor in Information Management Class of 2010! First of all, I would like to congratulate all of you on joining the Institute of Information Management family! As a college student here, you will receive solid training in information and management. Whether you want to pursue a career in academia or industry, the department will invite professors or alumni to share their experiences to help prepare you for the future. The professors in the department are also very warm and welcoming, so if you have any questions, feel free to email them or talk to the department office 😄

In addition to classwork, the department also encourages students to form teams to participate in competitions and gives a lot of assistance to students in the departmental club and internet research club, allowing students to focus on organizing activities such as orientation and allowing students who want to focus on extracurricular activities to have the opportunity. During my four years at the Institute of Information Management, I have met a lot of great people and have done many interesting things. With the training and assistance from the Institute, I have accumulated a lot of experience. I am currently working in the field of data analysis, solving life’s problems through information technology and using my soft power to make an impact. On the “technical” side, the courses in the Institute of Information Management laid the foundation for my programming related skills. In addition to the classes, the Institute also gives students a high degree of freedom to choose the professional knowledge they want to study according to their own planning, and then assemble a unique skill map for each of them.

In addition to technical skills, many of the courses required a project report to be presented on stage, which provided solid training in collaborative communication and presentation skills, allowing me to work as a team and effectively present my analytical results in the workplace. Participating in the five-year master's program has enabled me to use my time more pragmatically and to start participating in graduate school courses in my senior year. I was able to strengthen my professional skills and enter the workplace earlier than my peers, which allowed me to accumulate workplace experience faster.
