Resume Screening and Interview Skills Introduction
Our Purpose
This project is supported by a group of NSYSU College of Management alumni and current PhD students with the passion and willingness to elevate the students' growth with the help of their rich experience in their respective professional sectors. The consultancy provides students advice on resume writing and interview skills from the mentors' human resource profession in order to better prepare the students for their career.
Participants
- Resume/ Interview consultants:
The mentors are alumni from the College of Management, NSYSU. They will each provide 2-3 hours per semester of online career consulting. - Participating Students:
Students of the College of Management are welcome to book their slots for consultation. Their consultation sessions are on a first-come-first-served basis and depend on availability. The consultations are mainly intended for juniors, seniors and master students.
Consultant Selection Process
The mentors must be current human resource professionals with over 5 years of experience or PhD students from NSYSU. The consultation slots are arranged between November to December (fall semester) and April to May (spring semester) each year.
Roles in the Consultation Mentors
Resume-writing instruction and resume editing
- Interview skill workshops and mock interviews
Participating students
- Students who successfully book their slots must upload their resume upon admission.
- If an admitted student is unable to attend their consultation, they must inform the office five working days before the consultation session, so that the office can make arrangements to give the slot to another student on the waiting list. Violators will not be allowed to make appointments for consulting services in the future.
- Students should come to the consultation with a humble learning attitude.
- Students should complete the admission process at least five days before the session.
Our Approach
Each student can book two slots per semester. The consultation session takes place in the afternoon or evening on weekdays (Mon-Fri); each session will be a 30-minute one-on-one talk.
